So what does this mean? Are there any other relevant Bible verses that come to mind? We can do "WHATEVER" we need to do? Do you really believe this?

Do you know Paul wrote this from prison in Rome? He said he learned to be "Content whatever the Circumstances". Are we content whatever the circumstances or do your circumstances decide whether you are content or not? God PROMISES that if we put him first that he will deliver all of our needs. No, not "wants", but what we "need" to have a higher life. He CANNOT go against his own Word. Is God the #1 relationship in your life?

I guess the question is "what do I need to do". Is that my need or what God needs me to do? A lot of times the 2 needs do not match, so who wins?

bottom line is that our needs are very basic and God has provided them to the majority of us. Many of the things we pray for or think we really NEED are actually just wants. If we put God first we do have the power to do anything the problem is many times we don't thinking we know what is best for us

Agreed, Brad. If we earnestly seek His will; and give Him some time (in my experience) the path becomes clear. When I "think" I know what to do or how to respond, my humanness sometimes gets me in trouble- especially when I'm self seeking...

When I'm out of sync with God, I question that I'm truly "right" with Him. It's something I strive for, and taste from time to time, but don't seem to live there as I need and would like to. Guess I need to work on drawing nearer...

Monday night I thought someone was trying to break into my house around 12:30AM. Initially anxious (fear), I called the police. After 15 minutes they arrived and scouted the place out- nothing there.

Doug, really liked your comments from today across the board. And I think it is great for us to say that yes, there are some things I struggle with, but this is not one of them. That's how we make each other stronger.

Gotta love Scripture...so simple yes so deep. I'm writing this with a little help from my NASB study Bible as well as connecting it a Bible study I am doing right now called "Experiencing God" by Henry and Richard Blackaby.

Me again. Excuse my typos...I really should proof read before submitting. One last thing that I forgot after re-reading it...if you obey Him...that brings us back to Halsey last comment as well. The fruits of the Holy Spirit will flow right through you to others. How beautiful is that?!

Great stuff KD and MD. This is my interpretation. We accept Jesus as our lord and savior. That he died for our sins allowing us to have a personal relationship with God. God loves loves us unconditionally despite our faults. All he asks of us is to love him and make him the number one priority in our lives.

Open yourself fully to God. He knows what you are feeling and what 'healing' you need. Let it all out there and ask for peace from this world's fears...

Well trust is my word and is certainly something I struggle with. I have a tendency to "take control" of my life when things are going well and not follow God's will for my life. It is easy to have faith and trust in God when things are going well but we need to have same faith and trust when things are not going well for us. When we are sick, broke, tired, a bad marriage or any broken relationship we still need to trust.

No question here Dave. For most of us that live in the USA all of our needs are completely taken care of. When was the last time any of us were hungry for more than a few hours? had no where to sleep? had to walk more than 10 yards for clean water or wear the same clothes for a week? Society has caught all of us up in the world of materialism and bottom line is that you will never win. Someone will always have more of this or bigger one of that. You are right Dave, we only need God. When we trust in Him how many times has He come through for us in miraculous ways!

Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].”

Actually, the thing with LeBay. You should take that personally. The fact you have not had a bike ride together is upsetting. On a serious note, spot on comments and scripture. Stay hot kid!

The biggest issue here Dave is that we are human. We are exposed to our feelings, mood and instincts all the time. We are prone to be self centered and serving. A whole generation lived by the motto if it feels good do it! These human instincts we lead us all to sin eventually. This is inevitable and part of the human condition. Only way to avoid this is to stay connected with God! Read the bible, pray and go to your secret place and spend quiet time with God. In the past I would make big decisions based on my heart or gut feeling. Now I pray to God and try to listen before making that decision. I'm always thankful that I did!

This goes back to #7, does God meet all of your needs abundantly? If the answer is yes than everything else we have is fluff. A turning point for me was realizing it is not my money but it is Gods. I'm the steward of it and it is my responsibility that it is used to serve His will. Not only did my perspective on money change but my perspective on serving did as well. Although it is a big time commitment I have enjoyed serving our community by volunteering at a health clinic, DLA and KCC security to name a few. I think I have benefitted more than those I was serving. The next step may be a medical mission trip but I will continue to pray and see where God leads me.
